Caress is directly carved from a historical piece of Calais Red beach granite from the quarries tailing pile. The carved form is response the the dynamic composition the natural breaks create. This sensual piece has the carved sections “caressing” the natural form of the stone. It invites hospital visitors to interact with it, to experience its various textures of finish by touch.
